Robert Hays
Robert Hays

Many of us remember Bob as Ted Striker in the movie Airplane! (AFI’s 10th of the 100 Funniest Movies of All Time) telling Leslie Nielsen “Surely you can’t be serious?!” about having him fly the airplane, to which Nielsen replies, “I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley.” A slightly younger demographic will remember Bob in Homeward Bound & Homeward Bound II. Those of us a little older remember him as Starman!

A USBD Advisory Board member, Bob participates in a number of celebrity fundraising events supporting many nonprofits.  Of special note, Bob supported John Walsh’s NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) Benefit Fundraiser in Las Vegas earlier this year. We are fortunate to have such a friendly, yet passionate, advocate of our ‘standby’ donor/social media and word-of-mouth plan to mitigate, if not end, all life-threatening donor shortages.
